A virtual high street experience built with a global tech leader to demo to governments how immersive platforms can empower SMEs and keep community at the heart of digital commerce.

TEAM:

3D Art team, Real-Time team, UX/UI Designer, Graphic Designer, Creative Director, CTO, QA, Account Manager.

OBJECTIVE:Translate the vibrancy of a European town centre into an accessible, scalable VR/AR platform – balancing commerce, community, and education.

 

DELIVERABLES:

  • Unity3D VR playable
  • CMS for the client to import 3D shop interiors, exterior shop branding, or 3D models of items for sale
  • iPad Magic Door (AR) version(Future deliverable: eCommerce integration)

 

USERS:Government representatives at technology fairs

 

APPROACH:

  • Design Thinking & Agile Methodology
  • User-Centred Research – Identified the needs of SMEs, local communities, and end-users to shape experience goals.
  • Ideation – Showcase the possibilities of VR without making the experience gimmicky, while maintaining familiarity with real-world experiences.
  • Accessibility – Ensure the experience was usable for a broad audience, not just tech-savvy users; provided a multi-device solution: VR and iPad.
  • Journey Mapping & Lo-Fi Wireframing – Designed clear, intuitive flows for shopping, learning, and community events.
  • Scalable UI System – Built a consistent design language across VR, AR, and web touchpoints.
  • Hi-Fi Wireframes, Prototyping & Testing – Delivered over 150 Figma screens, VR test builds, and iPad AR prototypes; led progress meetings, defended design decisions to the client, and iterated based on client and user feedback.

 

BIGGEST PROJECT CHALLENGES:

  • Technical challenges of clothing in VR, particularly for the fashion store.
  • Ensuring onboarding provided enough guidance for users who had never experienced VR, without delaying access to the experience.
